Last slice of the reliable peanut butter snacks No hanging around, a mid afternoon flight gave us few options, and that not a bad thing, I would say a preference to get up and get on. Even as night drew to a close yesterday we knew we were coming to an end of the trip and the sadness creeping into the pit of the stomach. As we sobered up I remembered halfway through the night I needed to check in for flight home so that was the 3.30 toilet stop and then when I woke up got some swans tickets for a London trip away, so already moving into home routines, but still on the move. Took a while to pack luggage, a few souvenirs meant our already overladen cases were indeed bulging at the seams.  A few checks and not completely clear what we have lost yet, but am sure we will be returning with a few extra things, but also without 1-2 things too.  Ate up as much as we could, the last of the bread and peanut butter which has been my friend at key snack moments over the last week. Game Day

Started on familiar territory - Sunday afternoon football from home on the TV in the hotel room ... did get sucked in a bit to the games that I had no personal interest in but due to the  dreaded fantasy football was back on the time zone with Bryn and usual exchange of insults.  Getting ready for being back home! Then it was to the fitness centre for a treadmill 5K, Couldn't find the football to watch whilst running but did fine dinosaur racing of all things, so the sporting theme could kind of continue. A little look at the very small pool in the hotel then gather ourselves for the main event. The Cowboys stadium is out in Arlington, 20 miles west of the ciry so uber needed once we'd finished our relaxed hotel start to the day.  Even ate some fruit, not much of that seen for the rest of the day. Felt it might be busy around the stadium so looked for a bar nearby to be dropped at  by our latest uber driver, who quite frankly did not know the meaning of stoopi...

Time spent on a grassy knoll

zooming in on the knoll and depositry from reunion tower A dawn departure was necessary today as we has couple of things to do before returning Jessie the Jeep (as named by one of the kids back home as was tradition on previous road trips) to the Avis office in downtown Dallas. Plenty of obstacles (in my head) meant we needed to get back to Dallas swiftly ( a No Kings protest and State Fair) but of course it has been a whole 2 weeks without parkrun for Chrissi so she was in danger of going into cold turkey!  Nice to tick them off abroad even if I wasn't feeling it myself, running not my friend at the moment, but maybe parkrun the way back in? The dark freeways and having to adjust route for roadworks mean Andrea made the right decision not to join us especially as we had to cut and run after. Bear Creek Greenbelt parkrun sounds very wild west but is in fact on a clean concrete path through manicured lawns and play areas out in a well ish to do suburb of Keller .  This w...
